Ever feel like you’re waiting for a neon sign to confirm it’s time to take the next step? Maybe you’re stuck in overthinking mode, wondering if you need more experience, a better plan, or just a little more confidence before you finally go for it.
Well, friend, this episode of The Ready Enough Podcast is exactly what you need to hear. I had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Christy Wright—bestselling author, speaker, business coach, and all-around powerhouse—to talk about stepping into the unknown before you feel ready.
Christy shares her own journey of leaving a secure, high-profile career to pursue something completely new—before she had all the answers. She dives deep into the mindset shifts, faith, and action steps that helped her move forward, even when fear tried to hold her back. And let me tell you, it’s the kind of conversation that sticks with you long after you hit pause.
So, if you’ve been waiting for a sign to go after that dream that’s been nudging at you, this is it.
Here are five major takeaways from my conversation with Christy that will inspire you to stop waiting and start doing.
1. Say Yes Before You Know How
One of my favorite moments in our conversation was when Christy shared this powerful truth:
"If you wait until you have success to commit, you’ll have neither. You have to commit first."
Boom. Mic drop. 🎤
Most of us think we need to feel ready before we take action, but in reality, it’s taking action that makes us ready. Christy’s journey—from being terrified to speak in public to becoming a sought-after speaker and coach—is proof that confidence is built through action, not before it.
So, whether you’re thinking about launching a business, changing careers, or pursuing a big dream, say yes first. The details will follow.
2. When You Feel a Nudge, Lean In
Christy shared how persistent thoughts—the ones that keep coming back no matter how much you try to shake them—are often God’s way of leading you toward something greater.
Maybe you’ve been feeling pulled toward a big move, a new opportunity, or even a total career pivot. Instead of dismissing those nudges as random thoughts, what if you saw them as divine direction?
Take the first step, even if it feels small. That tiny step could lead to something bigger than you ever imagined.
3. Imposter Syndrome? Keep Talking Anyway
Oof, this one hit home. Christy talked about the power of speaking your dreams out loud, even when they feel ridiculous. She shared how Abraham in the Bible was called “Father of Nations” long before he had any children—talk about a name that felt impossible!
Your words shape your reality. When you declare your dreams, you begin to step into them. Even if it feels weird, even if it makes you a little sweaty, say it out loud.
Examples:
“I am a speaker.”
“I am an entrepreneur.”
“I am writing a book.”
Claim it before you feel qualified. Because ready enough is all you need to be.
4. Trust That Delays Are Not Denials
Ever felt like you’re doing all the right things, but the results just aren’t showing up? Welcome to the waiting season, my friend.
Christy shared how she felt a strong pull to move her family into a new house—but two years later, they’re still waiting. Yet, through that waiting, she’s learning to trust God’s timing over her own.
If you’re feeling frustrated because something you deeply desire isn’t happening yet, don’t lose hope. Just because it hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean it won’t. Keep believing, keep moving forward, and stay open to the unexpected.
5. What If This Time It’s Yes?
One of the most powerful things Christy said in our conversation was this simple question:
"What if this time it’s yes?"
What if this time, the door actually opens? What if this time, the opportunity aligns? What if this time, you’re stepping into the moment you’ve been waiting for?
So many of us assume that if we’ve heard “no” before, the answer will always be no. But God is always working, and things can change in an instant.
What if, instead of expecting the worst, you dared to expect the best?
Final Thoughts: You’re Ready Enough.
If this conversation with Christy taught me anything, it’s that fear is not a reason to stop.
It’s normal to feel scared. It’s normal to wonder if you’re ready. But growth doesn’t come from waiting—it comes from walking forward in faith.
So, let me ask you:
What’s the thing you’ve been waiting to feel ready for?
What’s one small step you can take today?
What if this time, the answer is YES?
