CONNECT WITH KELLY
Ever feel like you’re working hard but something is still holding you back? Like no matter what you do, there’s this invisible force shaping your decisions, relationships, and confidence?
Yeah, same.
Turns out, there is a reason we do the things we do. And my guest on The Ready Enough Podcast, Kelly Miller, is here to help us figure it out.
Kelly is a Primal Question and Enneagram Coach who helps people uncover the core emotional driver that influences everything from how we show up in our careers to why we react the way we do in relationships. And let me tell you—what she shared in this conversation? Total game-changer.
What Is the Primal Question? (And Why It Matters!)
According to Kelly, each of us has a deep emotional question that we are constantly (often unconsciously) trying to get answered in our lives. It’s the thing beneath the thing—the hidden motivator behind our behaviors, choices, and even self-doubt.
Some of the seven Primal Questions include:
Am I wanted?
Am I good enough?
Do I have purpose?
Am I safe?
Am I successful?
When this question is answered with a “yes,” we thrive. But when it’s answered with a “no” (or even a “maybe”), we start scrambling—overworking, people-pleasing, or doubting ourselves in an attempt to feel secure.
Kelly’s personal Primal Question is “Am I wanted?”—which made her realize why she used to take things so personally, why rejection hit her so hard, and why she felt driven to prove her worth in relationships.
And let me tell you… I had a moment of self-reflection right then and there!
The Power of Self-Awareness: Stop the Scramble
Once you identify your Primal Question, you stop looking for the world to answer it for you.
Think about it: If your core driver is “Am I good enough?”, you might overwork yourself trying to prove your worth. If your question is “Am I safe?”, you might avoid risks that could actually help you grow.
Kelly’s advice? Understand your Primal Question and start answering it for yourself—so you can stop searching for validation from external sources and start making confident, aligned choices.
How to Use This Insight to Get Unstuck
If you’re feeling stuck in your career, relationships, or personal growth, Kelly suggests a few steps to get clarity:
✅ Take the Primal Question quiz – You can find it on Kelly’s website. It’s a quick way to pinpoint what’s driving you.
✅ Write down your limiting beliefs – Then write the opposite next to each one. You’ll be surprised which version of the truth you’ve been believing.
✅ Look for arrows, not answers – Instead of waiting for a “big sign,” follow the small nudges leading you in the right direction.
✅ Own your story – When you know what’s driving you, you can shift from reaction mode to intentionally creating the life you want.
Final Takeaway: You Are Already Enough
One of my favorite moments from this conversation? When Kelly said, “You don’t have to prove you belong. You already do.”
Mic. Drop. 🎤
If you’ve ever felt stuck, doubtful, or like you’re constantly striving for something just out of reach, this episode is for you.
